Stump Grinding

The stump grinder is a machine used to remove stumps.

The 222 Vermeer stump grinder stands on three wheels, has a tow bar that can be fitted to most vehicles and is a hydrostatic ground drive for manoeuvring on site. The stump grinder is carried out by a power driven vertical cutting wheel, with especially hardened teeth. As the wheel revolves, it gradually moves across the stump reducing it to chips.2 is controlled by hydraulic power, and the engine its self is a 25hp Wisconsin petrol driven engine. The 222 has a Vee belt, then poly-chain drive to drive its 41cm, 12 cutting disk. The disk can trim a stump standing 64cm proud down to 33 cm beneath ground level. This machine is operated manually as it is the smallest one in Vermeer line up, though the bigger machines have an automatic slewing speed action.
