There are many different types of Pests and Diseases that can affect trees. Described here are some of the more common ones.
The symptoms of bud blast can be recognised when the buds fail to open and internally dry up, turning brown before they die.

This is a grey, sometimes white, fluffy fungal growth which develops in the infected areas, causing die back on the plant.
